All of the Kids adVentures team have recently been on an Outdoor Provision Training Day down at our sister organisation Garden Needs.

The course was all about finding ways to bring the outdoors into our everyday learning and play activity programmes that we have with the children.staff training

We always have a busy and varied plan of activities at Kids adVentures and we aim to incorporate outdoor time whenever we can as we believe this forms an important part of pre-school development.

The training was really informative and the whole team really enjoyed it. We tried all kinds of different techniques including den making, foraging and building a fairy house. There are lots of benefits involved in this type of play including increasing confidence and learning to play and work together.

It has given us lots of new ideas around using natural resources to give the children the chance to explore the outdoors and encouraging discovery within a happy and safe environment.

Speaking about the training, Maria Broadhurst, Kids adVentures Radcliffe Nursery Manager says: β€œIt was great to adventure walksee both nursery teams working together, we learnt some great new techniques and skills which we are excited to implement into our activity routines.”

Following the training both Kids adVentures Prestwich and Kids adVentures Radcliffe have increased their outdoors activity programmes to the nurseries weekly plans which include nature walks, outdoor discovery and nature craft.

Both nurseries have been building dens, learning more about nature and utilising autumn leaves and conkers into everyday crafts. Look out for our updates on social media to see all of the exciting activities that we get up to.
