Kids adVentures, Radcliffe has recently been given a ‘New Look’. The nursery rooms have been renovated in a way that was inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
Extra natural light has been added to the main toddler room. A large internal window has been added in to provide this. Extra comfort has been added across the rooms to give the kids comfy places to read books or to just take a minute to relax. An array of scattered cushions and blankets give them all they need in their cosy
The rooms have been decorated in a calming cream colour. Hessian has been placed on the display boards enabling the children’s artwork to stand out from the board. This allows the kids to admire their artwork in a clear and colourful manner. Kids adVentures staff say they have noticed that the children have been playing in a more calm and cooperative manner since introducing this approach. The staff also claim that it has made a difference with even the children displaying the most challenging behaviour.
Kids adVentures aims to offer a lot of sensory experiences throughout the nursery. This includes treasure baskets with wooden, metal and material resources and sensory bottles containing various noise and visual items such as rice and pasta and also water with sequins inside.
New equipment has been brought in to provide lots of opportunities for role play in the nursery. There are role play areas around the setting such as wooden fruit, vegetables and other cultural foods alongside a range of props which aim to stimulate imagination in the children’s play.
We are very excited about all the new renovations and equipment that we have added to our Radcliffe nursery. We look forward to welcoming in some new families for a look around. We have recently set up a new free of charge stay and play session and everyone is welcome to come and join in.

From January 2018 our Prestwich Pre-School Forest School will be operational 5 days a week from 7.30am to 6pm.
Our Ofsted registered Forest School is completely enclosed within our site, Garden Needs which includes welfare facilities, large kitchen and a well-equipped, cosy pre-school room. Also included on site are several specialist outdoor areas including a fire circle, mud kitchen, den making areas, outdoor craft area, mini beast hunting area and, covered areas.
Indoors we have a warm and cosy pre-school room, laid out to encompass all the areas of the Early Years Foundation stage guidelines. There are opportunities to learn all around the room as this is a key time where the children are getting ready for school. Areas include mark making, reading and writing areas, imaginative play and much more. Learning is led by the children and their interests, who we encourage to explore and to express their interests and individuality. The majority of learning is from the outdoors, and inspired by the outdoors.
We have 3 Forest School leaders at Kids adVentures as well as a full team of highly professional nursery educators. We find that the children are inspired by the outdoors and this makes learning more fun. Children naturally pick up the additional skills of confidence and team work when being out in this environment regularly.
We have easy access straight out on to Kersal Dale, a wonderful naturally wooded environment which offers a host of adventures and learning experiences across the different seasons of the year.
The concept of Forest School comes from Scandinavia, there have been Forest Schools in the UK since 1993.
There is now much documented research that shows that children are stimulated by the outdoors and gain skills around self belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication and problem solving.
We have a limited amount of pre-school places available for 2018, and only toddlers at our Prestwich Nursery are guaranteed places for the next in-take in September 2018.
We’ve pledged to help parents make their funded hours go further and to give more families access to great quality childcare.
This Spring, from January 2018, we are giving away an additional 55 hours of free childcare per child.
This is available to new customers at our Radcliffe and Salford nurseries and is for families that are accessing the 15 and 30 hours of free government childcare. Parents will be able to get an additional 5 hours per week free, up to a maximum of 55 hours, throughout the Spring 2018 term.
We don’t charge any deposit, and have a limited amount of these places available. If you are interested, you can start anytime in the Spring but need to book in as we will be giving these free hours away on a first come first serve basis.

We offer a family friendly environment, working in small groups to allow lots of individual development and child centred learning.
We are particularly passionate about outdoor education at Kids adVentures and have trained Forest School practitioners who come in and run sessions with the children both in our gardens and in the local parks.
Sing and Sign sessions are run weekly as our Stretch and Grow dance and exercise sessions, we regularly do baking with the children and have lots of trips out. Additionally the children have access to swimming sessions. All of these additional activities and services are completely free as part of the nursery offering.
We provide unlimited settling in sessions so that you and your child are completely comfortable. Some parents prefer to stay for the whole of the first settling in session, and then will gradually phase out being at the sessions until both child and parent are completely comfortable.
We also run a Free Parent and Toddler session every Tuesday from 9am to 11am. Everyone is welcome to come along to this, just call 0161 7240700 to book a place.
